Luxembourg is located in Western Europe, bordered by Belgium, Germany, and France. Viticulture is
concentrated almost entirely along the Moselle River in the east of the country, where south-facing slopes
and river influence create favorable growing conditions.
Wine production is organized under PDO (AOP) and PGI (IGP) designations, with the Moselle
Luxembourgeoise forming the core wine area. The climate is cool continental with strong river
moderation, supporting fresh, aromatic styles. Vineyards are typically small and carefully managed, with a
strong emphasis on quality.
Luxembourg is best known for white wines, particularly from Riesling, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot
Gris, and Elbling, as well as traditional-method sparkling wines labeled as Cremant de Luxembourg.
Wines are predominantly dry, crisp, and mineral-driven, reflecting the Moselle terroir.
