Egypt is in Northern Africa, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Libya and the Gaza Strip, and the Red Sea north of Sudan. It shares borders with Israel, Libya and Sudan . Egypt covers a total area of 1,001,450 sq km and has an approx population of 82,079,636. Cairo is the capital. Egypt has a desert climate with hot, dry summers and with moderate winters.
