Lebanon is a country in the Middle East located between Israel and Syria along the Mediterranean Sea. Beirut is the capital.
Lebanon has a Mediterranean type climate with hot, dry summers and mild to cool, wet winters. The mountains in Lebanon get large amounts of snow in the winter, which makes it an excellent ski destination.
The southern Beqaa Valley is the main wine grape growing area for Lebanese wines. Château Kefraya, located in the foothills of Mount Barouk, south of the town of Chtaura, is the largest producer of wine in Lebanon.
